As part of a project co-financed under Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Municipal Theatre in Gliwice produced “Szwaczka” (“The Seamstress”), based on a text by Łukasz Barys — winner of the 2nd edition of the Tadeusz Różewicz Playwriting Award and the Paszport Polityki prize — in the unique format of Virtual Reality.
The performance can be experienced in 360 degrees, making it one of the first attempts in Polish theatre to use this technology to expand the possibilities of storytelling. The production was directed by Bartek Bala.
In “The Seamstress” I played the role of Jasio, alongside Aleksandra Maj (Mother), Klaudia Cygoń-Majchrowska (Bobby), Jolanta Olszewska, Alicja Stasiewicz, Aleksandra Wojtysiak, Katarzyna Wysłucha, and guests Mariusz Galilejczyk and Lech Mackiewicz.
“The Seamstress” is a bitter portrait of today’s twenty-somethings — their immaturity, narcissism and fear of adult life.
