On 27 October 2024, I received the top prize at the Gala of the 1st Edition of the Łucjan Kościelecki Playwriting Competition — the Pen of Jaracz Award, organised by the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Łódź.
The competition received 188 submitted plays from across Poland. The jury shortlisted six works for the final — and my play “This Play Could Have Been Written by Artificial Intelligence” was awarded first place.
This is a tremendous honour for me, and a confirmation that the subject I have been absorbed in for some time now — the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, and the question of what in creative work is still genuinely human and what can already be replaced by an algorithm — strikes a real nerve and hits where it should.
Thank you to everyone who was with me in Łódź.
